Built in dry stone in 1842, it was created as a shelter for farmers, designed to offer protection, silence and coolness during long days working in the fields.

The liama was built in 1939, when an ancestor of the current owners acquired the pajara through a barter agreement and decided to expand the original structure.
Thus, a new stone-built space was created, characterized by the typical barrel vault, a distinctive element of Salento’s rural architecture.
Unlike the pajara, the liama had a more practical and everyday function: it was used as an agricultural storage space and as support for work in the fields, offering shelter and coolness during the hottest hours of the day.
Today, the liama is an integral part of the living space and preserves its original character, representing the connection between the oldest construction and the evolution of rural life over time.
